Adaptation action through MCCIP Marine Climate Smart Working (CSW)
Climate change impacts such as sea-level rise, increasing temperatures and changes in extreme events, are already affecting the environment, business operations and wider society. To help organisations understand and respond to these challenges, MCCIP launched its Climate Smart Working initiative in 2012. The aim of this initiative is to understand, communicate and celebrate marine adaptation work in the UK.
As a first stage in this process, MCCIP collated some existing examples of marine and coastal adaptation activities to help share best practice amongst relevant stakeholder communities and show how others are approaching these issues.
Since then, MCCIP has worked with a range of trade associations and conservation bodies to help them understand and respond to marine climate change impacts.
